At Dixon Acres Family Farm, we grow plant starts from seed right here on our farm in Lake Cormorant, Mississippi.
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. In a CSA, customers invest in the farm ahead of the season, which helps cover the cost of seeds, soil, supplies, and the many weeks of labor it takes before plants are ready for pickup. In return, CSA members receive plants at a discounted price compared to our regular plant sale pricing — and their plants are grown specifically for them.
In this Plant Start CSA, you will receive all of your plants in one or two scheduled pickups, and you’ll benefit from:
• knowing exactly where your plants come from
• knowing how they were grown
• reserving your garden early — just like starting seeds at home, without the stress
Our seedlings are grown in a custom soil blend made from high-quality peat, aeration components, natural mineral amendments, and biologically active compost materials to support strong roots and steady growth from day one.
We focus on careful timing and healthy root development — not rushed growth. Our goal is to send you home with plants that are:
✔ well-rooted
✔ properly timed for Mississippi planting
✔ not stretched or stressed
We will not release plants for pickup until it is safe to plant them outdoors in our area. Other nurseries may sell plants weeks earlier — but we are committed to giving you the best chance of success, not the earliest sale.
Your Plant Start CSA comes with garden support.
That means you can message Dixon Acres throughout the season with questions about:
• planting
• spacing
• watering
• pests
• or general troubleshooting
We want your garden to succeed!
Limited CSA shares are available and some plant selections may be limited. All orders must be placed and paid in advance to receive the CSA pricing listed below. We will have a plant sale with any extra plants, but selection at the sale may be limited.
