About Dixon Acres

Who Are We and Why Dixon Acres?

Dixon Acres is more than just a farm—it’s family, community, and a mission to spread joy.

Nestled in Lake Cormorant, MS, our small family farm is built on a foundation of service and love. We are a family who holds titles such as Marine, Veteran, Fire Fighter, Police Officer, First Responder, National Guard Reservist, Systems Manager, Accountant, Mom, Dad, Sister, Brother, Cousin, and just hardworking folks who believe in serving our Country, our Family and our community.

We started flower farming during a time when our community—and the world—needed a little more light. Flowers have always brought us happiness, and from that simple idea, Dixon Acres and #HarvestingHappiness were born. But as our farm grew, so did our purpose.

Today, in addition to our blooms, we care for chickens, ducks, bees, bunnies, goats, and more dogs and cats than we can count. Every addition has strengthened our commitment to what matters most—supporting our local community in every way we can. We also have a deep passion for protecting our pollinators and educating our community along the way, ensuring that future generations understand their vital role in our ecosystem.

Through sustainable farming, meaningful connections, and a deep respect for the land, Dixon Acres is a place where beauty, kindness, and community spirit flourish. Here, joy grows—one flower, one harvest, and one shared moment at a time.

Why a flower farm?

First, flowers make us happy and bring joy to our lives! They can brighten up any home and positively affect our social behavior. Second, around 80% of cut flowers sold in the U.S. are imported from other countries. You read that right! 80%!!!! This led us to ponder: What can we do? We have the land, so why not try to make a difference? Although we can't change the industry overnight, we can make small, consistent decisions to support local growers. Choosing locally grown flowers, vegetables, and fruits whenever possible can make a significant impact over time.

So, let's support our local growers! It will make you feel good and help the environment. 🌸🌼🌺
